The ClosetThis is a delightfully witty tale about a drab Frenchman (Auteuil) who's lost his wife, his son, and is about to lose his job at the condom factory because he is so boring. About to jump off his balcony, Pignon is stopped by his neighbor who suggests a way to improve his life: Come out of the closet. Never mind that Pignon is not gay. Once he comes out, his life turns upside down: his job is saved, his sexy boss (female) comes on to him, his son re-acknowledges him, and his ex-wife calls him.

In this farce on the political correctness of the 21st century, we are treated to a hilarious take on sexuality in society. Gérard Depardieu gives a great performance as a co-worker who is told to mend his gay-bashing ways and has a nervous breakdown in the process. The movie gets several kudos for not falling prey to stereotypes or cheap jokes; there are several surprises along the way. I also appreciate a French film that does not have a picturesque shot of the Eiffel Tower.

This happy, charming little story will definitely give you a good chuckle.
