I guess I would have to rate this one a matinee. I had high hopes for the movie, but found some parts to be kind of long, as well as some cheesy parts, but it had good special effects! The movie started out pretty good, but got kind of strange as it went along. Kind of a combination of 2001, Contact, and the episode of Star Trek where they find the recipe for muffins! The thing that irritated me was that there were some painfully long goodbyes when someone was about to die and they knew it. The acting was kind of 'stiff' even with Gary Sinise—I was hoping for something better from him. He was a good astronaut in Apollo 13, but kind of a depressed ex-hero in this movie. |
