Eurotrip Ahhh... just when I was yearning for the lost days of the shameless teenage sex comedy... wait, was I? Did I ever watch teenage sex comedies when I was a teenager? Well, rejoice, all fans of nubile young flesh! Eurotrip more than makes up for the lack of naughty bits that plague entertainment today (Janet Jackson, notwithstanding), as there are breasts galore in Eurotrip, as well as more than enough full-frontal male-bits to make up for the sad lack of such in popular entertainment.

Follow our foursome of young Americans as they traipse across Europe with their backpacks, navigating the foreign lands whilst barely being encumbered by such troubling realities as money, passports, tickets, eating, and sleeping. But, lo! Such pesky obstacles would slow the film down, as the kids try to get from point A (Ohio) to Point B (Berlin), so their lovelorn friend Scott can hook up with his "sure thing," the hot German pen pal named Meike.

Scott is joined by his friends: "Crazy European sex"-hungry Cooper, and twins Jamie (an uptight by-the-book traveler, with his Frommer's (tm) guide always in hand) and Jenny (who is a blossoming young woman who is tired of being "one of the boys"). Hijinks ensue as the kids hurtle through cities like London, Paris, Amsterdam, and take a few unsuspecting detours (Bratislava?) before (unsurprisingly) making it to their goal.

Yes, there are stereotypes and cultural jokes galore (will German Hilter jokes *ever* die?), some bordering on going too far (a whole scene in the Vatican will make even the non-holy wince). But, I gotta say, by the time the film finally gets going (which took a good half hour or so) some of Eurotrip is very very funny. Sex jokes abound, but are played for good fun without resorting to winking irony. Tired stereotypes still somehow get some chuckles. And I must praise the filmmakers for not including any vomit or excrement jokes.

I wouldn't say Eurotrip was a GOOD movie, but it is hard to hate a film that features Lucy Lawless as an Amsterdam dominatrix... see what I'm sayin'?
