guess John Landis, who did a fine job on An American Werewolf in London,
wrote the screenplay for this movie, but it seems that he ran out of ideas and
thought that if he changed characters and cities he would be just as successful
a second time? Wrong!
The movie takes place in Paris where a group of three friends are touring Europe on some kind of thrill seeking tour—bungie jumping, base jumping... etc. (I won't name any actors names since I didn't recognize any of them, and you may never see them again). They end up in Paris and sneak up to the top of the Eiffel Tower to bungie jump off the top. They come across a suicide jumper girl (without a bungie cord) who jumps, and frat boy #1 jumps after her and saves her life on the way down. Of course he becomes obsessed with her and tracks her down to return her shoe that she lost. Of course she is a werewolf and tries to chase him away for his own safety, but his overpowering hormones just get him into trouble. Basically it is the same story as Werewolf in London: his friends get killed, their rotting ghosts come back to talk to him, and they don't go away until the werewolf that killed them is finished off. Werewolf in London was a funny and scary movie at the same time. Werewolf in Paris is the same thing, but with less humor, not as scary, and a recycled story. See the first one and forget Paris! |
