
Though the film keeps you in suspense up until the last scene, the audience is never in doubt that true love will win out.

This is a disappointing, choppy, dimly lit and entirely by-the-numbers hybrid of a bad soap opera, a cheesy lesbian romance novel and any number of movies set in that clichéd hot-bed of same-sex action: the all-girls’ high school.

Kevin James and company churn out a formulaic underdog comedy that somehow manages to be effective despite a ridiculous premise, cookie-cutter characters and cringe-worthy dialogue that feels like it was ripped from a (bad) Afterschool Special.

Though director Ben Affleck takes a true story and perhaps muddies the details a bit, it doesn't detract from the fact that he has made a terrific and timely thriller based on a classified event that was buried for decades.

It's been twenty years since Edina and Patsy (Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley) first began entertaining us with their inebriated antics, and now they're back with three anniversary specials.
