Metro, bless its public transit heart, can be a blessing and the bane of my existence. With the week off, I carefully planned which bus to hop to allow time to get a delicious cuppa before the press screenings, but in this case I happened to catch The Slowest Bus in the World. As my bus also travels through Crazy Town, I also got to hear Tourette's-style cursing throughout my whole meandering trip downtown, as the guy behind me proceed…

The hot Friday night ticket was the recent Sundance winner (Grand Jury Prize-Narrative) Winter's Bone, so I decided to catch the film right before it, since I was right there in the 'hood. Despite the pedigree of interesting directors (Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini of American Splendor) and…

As we here at Moviepie like to say, a film festival ain't a film festival until you've seen at least one gay neo-Nazi film! But more on that later... Luckily for SIFF, the weather during much of Memorial Day sucked, so I'm sure I was not the only one driven indoors when I had actually been planning to run around in the sun, pinwheeling my arms through the air as I am wont to do. So I figured I had…
