SEATTLE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

May 20 - June 13, 2004

2004 Seattle International Film Festival[June 14, 2004] — Another SIFF has come and gone, and now we are left wondering what to do with ourselves! It will take a few days to recover and remember how to interact with non-celluloid characters again, and to re-learn how to eat food that is not simply available for purchase in a two block radius. We scurry to pop vitamins now, getting some sun (finally!) to avoid PFS (post-festival sickness). We'll suffer a bit, but I think we'll be fine.

This year's SIFF set attendance records, jumping 20% over the previous year. Some may argue that it was because Seattle had a string of crappy Spring weekends that all happened to land during the fest. Or some may have been lured by the programming and special forums by guests like director Patrice Leconte, cinematographer Christopher Doyle, actor Stephen Fry, and screenwriters Jim Taylor and Alexander Payne.

Let's just say that, as always, we had a great time and can't wait until next year. OK, after 25 days of movie-going, maybe we can wait a little bit... but you know what I mean!
