Before the StormBefore the Storm is a blending of two separate stories that are connected by association and the common underlying theme of morality. Both storylines intersect a couple of times and provide some pretty honest and human moments.

Ali (Per Graffman), an Arabian immigrant living in Sweden with his family, has been living a relatively normal life until he is forced to face his past as a guerilla resistance fighter. He is contacted by an older woman from his home country and given an ultimatum: assassinate a powerful industrialist or lose those who he left behind years ago.

Leo (Emil Odepark) is the direct target of a school's resident bully and endures humiliation on a daily basis. After a particularly embarrassing event, Leo decides to get even with Danne, his tormentor. He goes home and smuggles his mother's gun out of the house. He only intends to make the daily humiliations end with a little turn-around-is-fair-play action, but things don't goes as planned.

There was a moment towards the end of the movie that I was audibly telling one of the characters to run. Needless to say that they were able to pull off the thrill of the drama and make it translate in any language.
