The Attic ExpeditionsTrevor (Andres Jones) wakes up from a 4-year-long coma only to find out that he may have committed murder prior to taking that long nap. Upon his waking, Trevor meets his doctor and almost immediately starts having nightmares. (Honestly, if I had Dr. Ek [Jeffrey Combs, from Re-Animator] as a caretaker, I’d start down the nightmare highway myself.)

As part of his recovery, Trevor is sent to a halfway house for psychos, which is called “The House of Love,” but it doesn’t really live up to its name. The house is filled to the brim with some strange characters: Amy, the quiet, yet approachable sexual predator; Ronald, who speaks through a hand puppet... but the one who constantly make Trevor think is Douglas (Seth Green). He speaks in randomness, and by some odd twist, brings Trevor insight into what happened.

This is a quirky film that is trying very hard to be the intelligent horror flick to counterbalance the films that make those damn WB kids so popular. They get close to achieving their goal, but I have to admit, they did lose me a couple times though. It’s more of a thinking-through-it kind of story, but keeps you interested. I liked it.
