If you need some new additions to your DVD library to keep the kids occupied this summer, Lionsgate has a slew of new releases that fit the bill.
Sweet Dreams is a fabulous collection nighttime themed stories that will help the kids transition to chill-out mode before nap or bedtime. Barney, Fireman Sam, Angelina Ballerina, Kipper, Bob the Builder, Timmy of Timmy Time, and Roary the Racing Car are all on board for these mellow adventures. Angelina Ballerina also does parents a favor by showing the downside to staying up all night, something seems a lot more appealing than it really is.
Thomas and Friends gear up for four new adventures in Thomas in Charge, and find themselves dealing with a coal spill just in time for the Railway Inspector's visit. Can they clean up in time to pass the test? Equally action-packed is Fireman Sam: Brave New Rescues, which finds Fireman Sam saving the day in six new episodes.
Finally, whether kids are heading to school for the first time or just wondering what their older siblings do when they're away from the house, Preschool Fun and Timmy Time: Picture Day are great introductions to the school experience. Familiar faces Kipper, Angelina Ballerina, Timmy, Barney, Thomas, Roary the Racing Car, Bob the Builder, and Fireman Sam are featured in Preschool Fun. In Timmy Time: Picture Day (a this spin off of Shaun the Sheep from the creators of Wallace and Gromit), Timmy the sheep faces many of the same crises confronting tiny little kids at school every day: how to stay presentable through picture day, obsessing over a favorite color, not getting what you want, losing a cherished toy, and thinking you know it all. These episodes are a fun way to prepare the kids for what to expect in the fall.
