The 80s and early 90s just wouldn't have been the same without Patrick Swayze. Who doesn't have a million memories of Dirty Dancing, or remember the summer Ghost took the world by storm? And who wasn't reduced to goo by the sheer hotness of Point Break, possibly one of the most fantastic action films ever made? Patrick was beautiful, bad ass, sensitive, and graceful, a combination we aren't likely to see onscreen any time in the near future, if ever again.

The loss of such a familiar figure is always sobering and sad, but it's also a reminder to celebrate life. Somehow I don't think that Patrick (or Chris Farley) would mind if we took a moment to remember them fondly... as the greatest Chippendales dancers of all time:

This is a GREAT clip! Hilarious and sweetly funny (considering the sheer hunkiness involved!). I have to admit I was never a groupie of Ghost or Dirty Dancing, but as I've been looking through all the stories about Patrick (who was always just inherently likeable), I had totally forgotten about North and South, the epic Civil War mini-series! OMG, he was so hot as soldier Orry Main, that he got me to try to read those ponderous John Jakes novels while I was still a kid.
