Like the original, Hoodwinked Too! is essentially a fairy tale on speed.
Hey kids! Did you love Hoodwinked? I think I kind of hated it, but Hoodwinked Too! Hood Vs. Evil is here and it's a lot like the first one! Soo...I kind of hated it again! But maybe it's just me.
Like the original, Hoodwinked Too! is essentially a fairy tale on speed. The frenetic energy really never stops, and pop culture references abound. You wanna see Red Riding Hood doing Matrix maneuvers? You got it! But you're also going to have to wade through a plot that's roughly as sophisticated as the Matrix franchise.
Basically Red must rally her friends and save Hansel and Gretel from an evil witch, but there are so many characters and so much chaos that it's hard to keep track of the goings on. The voices are A-list (Glenn Close, Joan Cusack, Hayden Panettierre, Amy Poehler) and the action is constant, but the film is a bit too busy for its own good. While kids may be entranced by the fast pace and interesting (confusing?) hi jinx, its doubtful that they'll be able to absorb all that's going on here.
